In 2010, White Mountain Lake Foundation assisted the White Mountain Arizona Game & Fish Department with their project at Fool Hollow Lake by coordinating donations from several groups for artificial habitat under the docks.
In 2011, Becker became a designated “Catch and Release” fishery. White Mountain Lake Foundation collected funds for lake hosts facilities and other site improvements at the lake.
WMLF approved a budget for the following:
For 2012, White Mountain Lakes Foundation has chosen to concentrate its efforts on Crescent Lake. We are aggressively researching aeration systems, ways to impede weed growth and possible sources for renewable water. Our ultimate goal is to improve the water quality throughout the calendar year. This should greatly increase the chances for trout survival, in both the extreme winter and summer months. Wouldn’t it be great to catch mature, 4-5 year old, rainbow or brook trout in Crescent in the future?
These are lofty ambitions for Crescent Lake and they come at a cost. Therefore, we need your help to make these goals a reality. Please, become a WMLF member today, so we can continue our progress. Together we will make Arizona’s cold water fisheries healthy and sustainable, so everyone has the chance to land that “fish of a lifetime” right here in Arizona!
